Spring Semester. [09 Jan 2007|04:00pm]

I'm really trying to reduce the amount of money I spend on books this semester. Anybody have any of these?

MUS116
Elements of Music
Author:Straus Edition:

GEO101
Physical Geography
Author:Strahler Edition:3rd

PHI334
Environmental Ethics
Author:Pojman Edition:4th

SSC118
Environmental Science (w/CD)
Author:Miller Edition:9th

You know you want my money...!

Oh, & if anyone is taking Myth & Religion with Woodard this semester, I have of the books for it. For his class the exams that we handed in are in the manual, so you will have to photocopy them from someone else [or the copy he has in the library, he allows it]. I also wrote in the manual a bit. If you don't want to pay $82.75 for the USED package or $110.75 for the new, you should definitely think about my $25 dollar offer. =-) & if anyone needs to know how to get an A in the course, talk to me! *_*

Sorry for this super long post taking up space on your friends pages.

NFTA deal kaput [26 Jul 2006|12:57pm]

professor_eight
So, I called up SRC today, trying to find information on the plan to provide UB students with a reduced cost nfta/metro pass... $25.00 / semester is what they said... starting in the fall semester...

I contacted SRC, and the nice people at SRC transferred me to Student Life... who transferred me to an info booth, and the dude there (Gregory) told me to check the Spectrum online for the information, as it seems "they" (talk alot, don't "they") wrote an article about it in the Summer spectrum issue...

can't find it in the spectrum website, but the nice woman @ the spectrum confirmed that the program is cancelled... and someone would call me with some information on it, since that's how they roll...

can anyone HERE give me a solid reason (please no theory or conjecture) why?

I have two questions:

1. can non UB students get in to conan with a general admission ticket that a UB undergrad would have gotten?

2. if so, does anyone have one they don't need? my friend really wants to go and will pay 5 dollars (I know thats not a lot but hey, they were free for us) if you are willing to donate your ticket.

thanks!

Okay so, I'm sure that everyone is sick of hearing questions about lottery numbers and the liklihood of getting a certain room and such by now, but I'm going to go for it anyway.

I'm a freshman this year, and I decided to commute my first year. Now I want to live on campus for a year and I paid my deposit and found someone who is also a commuter to be my roommate and blah blah blah.

My lottery number is 2034, which I know is terrible, but I didn't expect any less. Hers is in the 2500s, so we're going to have to go with my crappy number to get ourselves a room.

We'd like to stay in a double in Ellicott. We are very adamently against having another roommate unless we absolutely have no other choice. We are aware that it might come down to that. We also would very much like to be able to get a large double, even though my common sense tells me that the liklihood of it actually happening is slim to nill.

So my questions are these: What IS the liklihood of getting a large double in Ellicott? And also, I looked at the room availibility site, and I couldn't seem to figure out which rooms are supposed to be considered large doubles. Does anyone know what they're listed as/what buildings they're in? Any info would be highly appreciated. I'm kind of clueless.

Thanks!

Nine Inch Nails in Rochester [28 Feb 2006|08:34pm]

zissoushoes
ok I need advice. I'm going to the Nine Inch Nails concert out in Rochester next thursday at the Blue Cross Arena. I'm going with two friends and meeting one of my friends from home (Binghamton) there and none of us know where the arena is. thats not the main issue but we need to know when to leave. we have general admission tickets and from what I've gathered off the arena's website there is going to be about 3000 other people down there with us. so all in all we need to get there find a parking spot and find my friend from home. I want good standing spots so I'm not against standing in line for an hour or two or whatever to get them. any suggestions on how long of a drive/parking/finding my friend time will be, and when to get in line for good spots would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!!

ps. is anyone else going?

Hair Salons [07 Feb 2006|05:56pm]

zissoushoes
I want to get a good cut and color job done on my hair and I was wondering if any of you had any recommendations as to where to go. I could go somewhere in a mall or something but I'm a little leery of that especially since I want to get it colored. this will be my first time getting my hair cut by anybody other than my hair dresser at home since I was born, neglecting my mom haha.

thanks!
